Angela Anson –
Virtual PA
|
 |
Small Office Support is a
company that offers you Virtual PA services with
highly skilled, self-employed individuals. It
was created in July 2007. I started with the
acronym S.O.S coming to your admin rescue and
then fitted the words Small Office Support to
the acronym. I offer Virtual PA services
to both individuals and larger organisations and I
will travel to Rotherham, Sheffield, Barnsley, Doncaster
and Worksop.
We
have the flexibility to work from our own home,
or in your office. Taking advantage of modern
technology and communications, we can work
together over the internet and
telephone.
I
went to The University of Sheffield as a mature
student and really enjoyed it. I stood for
election to the staff student committee which
gave me the opportunity to develop my
negotiation skills, which is always useful in
the business world. One of my many achievements
in life was when I contacted the Cabinet Office
by email for a summer placement in 2000. They
requested my CV, which I sent. Then I was
invited to an interview at H M Treasury. I
got the job and applied all my statistical
analysis skills and economic theory. I also
learnt a lot about myself, living and working in
London.
I have driven a fire
engine.
I have worked in various
industries such as manufacturing, organising
events, mining, Local and National Government.
The larger organisations that I have worked for
have given me experience of a defined role
within the team. In the smaller organisations
you are on the front line fire fighting, being
called to do and think of
everything.
I am an active
member of the Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber
of Commerce where she is on the Women in
Business Board.
I am an honest,
enthusiastic person that likes to be organised
and get things done.
I have been a bee
keeper for the last 10 years although we
have a very bad year in 2009. Our
other website is www.hesleyhoney.com
Hope
to speak to you soon. angela@small-office-support.co.uk Mobile:07710

David Anson - Environment
Consultant
David Anson has worked as a
professional town planner from 1969 to 2007 in
Sheffield & Leicester and can give advice on
all types of development and its
impact.
David represented the local
community at two public inquiries and other
friends asked for his advice so he realised that
there is a market for independant professional
planning advice. Planning need not
be such a
problem.
He has also writing
an historical novel based on The Battle of
Brunanburgh which he believes was
fought near the Magna site at
Templeborough, Rotherham. This is set in
the year 937AD. He is also writing a
political thriller set in the future.

Links and
Clients
|
|
|
The following are links to some of our
clients and an outline description of the type
of service that Small Office Support has
provided for them in the
past.
Junction
Solutions – Virtual PA
www.junctionsolutions.co.uk
I am responsible for all the
administration of this company. This
involves giving introduction and presentation to
new starters and ordering telephones and
laptops, ensuring that all personal documents
are stored correctly and organising the lease of
cars for the consultants. I process the
monthly timesheets and expenses. I generate
weekly purchase order and sales invoices reports
for the director. Provide the accountant with
all relevant financial details upon request. Any
other administration task when requested. This
is done virtually from my office with a weekly
visit to this client’s
office.
Western Provident
Association WPA - Account
Manager
In order to do this job I needed to
attend an intensive training to qualify as an
Account Manager. This was due to the
confidential nature of the work. The main
tasks that I performed her were answering
enquiries from the public. This required
extensive knowledge of the products on offer and
all the qualifying requirements; checking
application forms when they arrived and request
or confirming further details; mail merging
letters with the contacts on our database and
making follow up calls after a targeted
marketing campaign. I also promoted this
company on a promotional stands at networking
events.
Random Acts
www.randomacts.ltd.co.uk
Project management
for the first ever 24 hour Music Hall event held
in September 2006. A summary of skills involved
were: talking to venue managers about our event
and our requirements. I arranged the printing
and distribution of leaflets and other publicity
material. I set up office procedures to record
the contents of all the shows. We set and
reviewed targets for ticket sales and production
meetings. I promoted the event in the local
press and on BBC Radio Sheffield. I booked
professional performers from London. I made
travel and accommodation arrangements. I defined
box office arrangements, designating and
supervised volunteers to them. I appeared in two
shows and we all had a good
time.
Dean Headland
www.deanheadland.co.uk
I typed an eight
page document using Excel with formula in to
record financial values. This is a good example
of virtual PA services. I typed this document as
he dictated it to me over the telephone. I then
saved it and emailed it to him. He checked it at
his end and printed it off. On another occasion
I went to his office to redesign it and set up
procedures to record client contracts in a more
efficient manner. This resulted in more
confirmed bookings and ease of paperwork flow
throw the office.
Matthew Blyden
www.beyondcomputers.co.uk
Matthew sent me a
framework for his customer satisfaction survey.
I changed the format and drafted specific
questions that were required to gain a fuller
picture of the satisfaction the customers of
Beyond Computers felt about the level of service
offered by the company and all their staff. This
contract took two hours to complete and was
saved and emailed back to the
client.
Rudi Enos
www.moonburststructures.com
My role here was
varied from drafting marketing letters which I
mail merged with the database that I had
cleaned, to driving essential equipment to site
for erection of the structure. Liaising with
production to obtain figures of materials
required to sourcing alternative suppliers if,
or when our regular one could not supply the
materials we required in time. I had to look out
for even small changes in the price of bolts,
for example, as the number that we required for
the project meant that it could have a major
impact on the overall cost. If the lead time was
so short due to changes beyond our control this
financial cost was reported by me to other
members of the team as soon as I became aware of
it.
